I'm Always Chasing Rainbows
I'm always chasing rainbows, watching clouds drifting by
My schemes are just like all my dreams
ending in the sky
Some fellows look and find the sunshine
I always look and find the rain
And some fellows make a winning sometime
and I never even make a gain
Believe Me,
I’m always chasing rainbows,
I'm always chasing rainbows waiting to find the little bluebird in vain.
The melody of the song is taken from Chopin's
"Fantaisie Impromptu in C# Minor." Although introduced in 1917, it was
featured in the 1946 Hollywood musical "The Dolly Sisters" in which John
Payne sang it. Perry Como then had a hit record and the revived song was
on "Your Hit Parade" for twelve weeks.
